Sarah J. Gross, M.Ed., J.D., LL.M. is an attorney licensed in California and a trained mediator specializing in family and elder care dispute resolution. After completing law school and becoming a licensed attorney, Ms. Gross completed a Master of Law (LL.M.) at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, based at Pepperdine University School of Law’s Malibu, California campus. She pursued a concentration in eldercare dispute resolution, and began working under the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) Elder Justice Initiative on Eldercaring Coordination, an initiative dedicated to developing a dispute resolution option for high-conflict cases involving the care and needs of elders. Ms. Gross spearheaded the development of a pilot program in eldercaring coordination in Orange County, California courts, and has served as Director of the Eldercaring Coordination Program at Orange County Superior Court (OCSC). In this capacity, she has educated the Orange County legal and mediation community about elder care dispute resolution, and organized and facilitated trainings in elder mediation and eldercaring coordination. She has also presented at various venues, including the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) Annual Conference; the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), and the American Bar Association (ABA) Dispute Resolution Conference. Her publications include the ABA Commission on Law & Aging’s Journal, Bifocal, and the OC Lawyer.

In addition to mediating elder and healthcare-related disputes, she continues to advocate for court-connected dispute resolution programs as a means of serving the increasing aging population in the United States, and addressing the needs of elders and their families.
