Minimizing Joint Pain & Increasing Mobility
With Special Guest: David Neuman, MD FAAOS
NAIPC Long Island Chapter Member

Joint pain and loss of function occur as a normal part of aging, but it does not necessarily have to be that way.

The benefits of staying active and performing appropriate exercise is well-established. Embracing technology can help aging people and their loved ones stay as independent and pain-free as possible.

The talk will:
  • Provide evidence-based information on normal changes to your body as you age, and the benefits of exercise;
  • Describe the burdens of chronic pain;
  • Reinforce prevention strategies to combat pain and loss of independence;
  • Explain how the joints function;
  • Outline an exercise plan for aging people; and
  • Explore ways to embrace technology.

David T. Neuman, MD FAAOS is the owner and clinical director of NY Sportscare, located in New York City, NY. His philosophy includes utilizing physical therapy and ‘home’ exercises to help an injured joint recover to a functional state.

Dr. Neuman created a joint-health healthcare technology start-up called Pop-doc.com, a premier online musculoskeletal health platform that serves to educate people about the musculoskeletal system. It offers safe, simple, and effective web-based joint-health activities and appropriate exercises for those who want to stay as independent as possible, alleviate stress, and feel less joint pain. Through joint education and joint-health activity routines, people of all ages can take more control of their muscle, bone and joint health and enjoy life more.
